Today's Agent Skill: Client Dispute Resolution Letter Drafter

What It Does

When a client disputes an invoice, refuses to pay for delivered work, or claims the results didn't match what was promised, most small business owners either cave immediately or send an emotional email that escalates the situation. A professional, well-structured dispute letter can recover payment, protect your relationship, and document your position without involving lawyers or burning bridges.

How It Works

The agent takes your description of the dispute — what was delivered, what the client claims, what your contract says, and what resolution you're willing to accept — and drafts a firm but professional dispute letter. It includes a factual summary of the engagement, a rebuttal of the client's claims using specific evidence, a clear resolution demand, and a timeline for response before further action is taken.

How to Deploy It

Run this skill in Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Cursor, or Windsurf by providing the project details, the client's complaint, and your ideal outcome. Send the final letter via email with a read receipt enabled, or via certified mail for larger amounts. For disputes over $500, keep the letter in your records — it serves as documentation if the matter escalates to small claims court or a collection agency.

SKILL.md — Ready to Deploy

## Description
Drafts a professional client dispute resolution letter that summarizes the engagement, addresses the client's specific claims with facts, states the resolution being demanded, and sets a clear timeline for the client to respond — without sounding threatening or emotional.

## Trigger
Invoke when the user says "help me write a letter about a client who won't pay," "a client is claiming we didn't deliver what we promised," "write a dispute letter," "a client is threatening a chargeback," or describes a payment or performance dispute with a client.

## Input
- Summary of the work or services delivered (what was agreed and what was actually done)
- Client's specific complaint or reason for non-payment
- Relevant contract or agreement terms (quote key clauses if possible)
- Evidence available: emails confirming delivery, approval messages, photos, signed documents, screenshots, receipts
- Resolution being requested: full payment, partial payment, revision, or compromise amount
- Deadline you want the client to respond by (recommend 7–14 business days)
- Whether this is a first attempt or a follow-up to a previous conversation
- Tone preference: firm and direct, profession
